Migraine Pain Relieved with Neural Therapy

A migraine patient was successfully treated using neural therapy at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center.

Caniş, a 20-year-old woman living in the Gevaş district, told Anadolu Agency that she had been suffering from severe headaches for the past 4 years, which at times caused her to faint and become emotionally distressed.

Despite receiving treatment at various hospitals, she said the pain did not subside until she underwent neural therapy, which helped her regain her health.

“I came to the sports medicine clinic at YYÜ Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center based on a recommendation,” she said. “I'm so glad I did. The pain I had for four years is no longer the same. After starting treatment here, I noticed improvement. My nerves calmed down, and I started communicating better with my family. Thanks to the treatment, I was even cleared of the migraine diagnosis. I’m very happy.”

“Our patient recovered from pain within a week”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeyhmus Kaplan, Head of the Department of Sports Medicine at YYÜ Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center, stated that it is possible to recover from migraine with neural therapy.

Kaplan emphasized that although migraine is primarily a neurological condition, neural therapy has emerged as a promising treatment method in recent years in Turkey.

“We first recommend that migraine patients be evaluated by neurology specialists,” he said. “Neural therapy is a treatment method that has recently started to become more common in Turkey. As with all treatment options, we begin with a comprehensive evaluation. In the case of Zübeyde Caniş, she had suffered for four years without relief. Upon examination, we learned that she had been in a traffic accident and had metal implants in her legs. There was a significant surgical scar in that area. Sometimes, surgical scars can become what we call 'interference fields', disrupting the autonomic nervous system. The body may then misinterpret this as pain in another area.”

Kaplan noted that neural therapy was applied to the scar tissue, and:

“Within just a week, the patient reported that most of her pain had disappeared. We will continue to monitor her progress and complete the neural therapy protocol. It’s rewarding to see a patient who previously had severe, life-disrupting pain now return to normal daily life and regain her social relationships.”
